Connaissez-vous la version féministe du Petit Prince ? - Gang du Clito

Do you know the feminist version of The Little Prince?

✨ The Great Princess

✊ This is the feminist version of “The Little Prince” written by Julia Pietri

👉Have you noticed that there are no women in The Little Prince?

This is what decided the author to write this tale in a feminine way to change representations in children's books.

We know that in children's literature, male and female roles are asymmetrical. Female figures are often placed in the role of mother, or good housewives. The heroes are often male and the female characters are determined by a male link: Finding your prince, getting married, looking for love, or even being saved... It's a bit like the concept of "male gaze" in English , theorized by Laura Mulvey in 1975. In the majority of films, everything is constructed so that the spectator – considered by default by the directors as a heterosexual man – identifies with the male hero and covets the beautiful, passive woman.

This is why the feminist publishing house Better Call Julia Works has changed the imagination of our children's books.
